Roadtrip | Cool Kid | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a new layout created using the super awesome 'Cool Kid' collection by Crate Paper! This super cool collection is currently in the Sassy store if you find inspiration from my layout and wish to purchase it!

This collection is not only great for all your boy themed pages, it can be used for travel or outdoor pages too. My family and I had a recent holiday overseas and we captured lots of Roadtrip moments including this one of my youngest son falling asleep on his Pop after a big day out! I just had to document this and what better way with the bright colours of the Cool Kid collection

I wrote some journaling on that tag and then popped it behind my photo, I love doing this and will quite often hide my journaling as I feel it can take away from the design sometimes. I knew I wanted to use the clear ephemera road map piece but it got a bit lost against the blue background so I adhered it to white cardstock and I like how that looks much better!

My title is cut using my Silhouette Cameo and I cut it from a lime green cardstock that matches perfectly with my Mum's cardigan in the photo. I really like the mix of fonts in the title.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Sassy blog today!
Make sure to check out the Sassy store for all your crafting needs!

Happy creating!

Pink Paislee Summer Lights| Mermaid Hair don't Care | Guest DT Gwen Wruck

Hi Creative Friends,

Gwen with you today with another share as this months Guest Designer.  This month I'm creating with the latest collection from Pink Paislee - Summer Lights and today I'm sharing my second page.  If you missed the first one, you can check it out here.

As soon as I saw this collection, I knew I had to create a page with the chipboard Mermaid - how cute is she!!! AND that sentiment, "Mermaid Hair don't care" I adore that too so I then went about finding a photo of Miss 10 that would fit those. Living on the beautiful Gold Coast, we enjoy Summer most of the year and often find time to go to the waterfront for a swim, so it was not hard to find one of her looking like a gorgeous mermaid!

Next, I pulled out a stack of the frames from the Ephemera pack.  I wanted to heap them up as the base for my photo mat.  I just layered them up across one-third of my page crisscrossing at different angles.  I then went about matting my photo and added some foam tape for dimension.  Then it was time to add the mermaid, she was a perfect fit just to the right of my photo.  The chipboard in this collection is so sweet, with lots of cute icons and I thought why not add the umbrella here as well as some cute shells from the ephemera pack.

Once I was happy with this little cluster, I went about finding a spot for the sentiment "Mermaid Hair don't care".  It was a perfect fit under the photo and rounded out the embellishments needed for this side of the design.  This then meant that the left-hand side of the page was a little bare so I found the "Beach Life" chipboard piece and the little sign and camera and added these in.  I've also just slid a tag under my photo here as well, just for a little bit of interest and a lovely pop of pink!

I've added a couple of Rhinestones from my stash to round out of the layout and it was done.  I'm really happy with the clean look it has even though I've used a pattern paper for my background.

Thanks for checking out the blog today, I hope I've inspired you to get those Summer photos scrapped, this collection really is perfect for it!

You can find the entire range in the Sassy Scrappers store here.

Until next time,

Carousel tags with Kylie

Hello lovely friends!
Kylie here today sharing some cute gift tags I have created using the new 'Carousel' collection by Maggie Holmes. Tags are some of my most favourite items to make.I will usually make a stock pile to have on hand ready.
Here is a little look at some I created this past week-

I have created each tag from varying papers from the range and made sure to distress the edges a little.I think this gives the tags a nice softness to them.

I focused on a lot of the stickers for this week.So much pretty in the details with a lot of glitter and metallic gold foil used.

I also used the enamel stickers for the first time ,which is the black bow on this tag. They really add an extra something to your project! I also used a string of pearls for the top tie on this tag for something a little different.

This last one is one of my favourites.I added a bloom with punched leaves for detail.I think the ticket stand from the ephemera pack is so adorable!

I hope you have enjoyed my project today, until next time,
Kylie xo

Pocket Pages with Agnus | May continued | Simple Stories Say Cheese

Hi :) I have another share using some fun items from 'Say Cheese III' collection by Simple Stories.

These pages document the second part of May, and as I showed in my previous post this range is definitely great for more than just Disney themed pages!

I have used more of the gold foiled items from the store, including one of the acetate words whihc I split over two pockets for some extra interest.

I also backed more of the gorgeous gold foiled vellum with the grey cardstock to create a nice flow from my earlier pages

I loved the bright & bold journal cards from this collection and used a sprinkle of enamel dots to decorate the front of the card which I used to create an easy flip pocket.

You can buy pre-made flip pockets, but cutting up one of your spare page protectors is an easy alternative. I used a craft knife and metal ruler to carefully cut around the edges of one 6x4" pocket ensuring that the top was around one inch longer. I then folded the top section and snipped off the sides at an angle before securing it to the back of the base card with double sided tape.

6x8 inserts are great for adding cards, extra photos and other memorabilia to your album - I photographed the front of my little guy's handmade card and folded it so that his writing would be easily visible inside the page protector, however I slipped in a 6x4" section of patterned paper inside the pocket so that his sentiments would remain personal.

I changed out some of the photo sizes on this page, but again aligned the placement to keep the page balanced.

I kept my embellishments pretty minimal on these pages, using just a few chipboard frames, stickers from the 8 page sticker pack a few enamel dots and the rotary stamp to dress up some of my cards and photos.
